He M.A.D.E Me

Happy New Year!

Me and Dr. Aqua are excited to start off this new year with the theme He MADE Me. You will see this theme interwoven throughout the ministry’s upcoming bible studies (The Experience), triSistah412 Live events, blogs and nuggets of inspiration and motivation in our social media posts. This is the first of four blogs, specifically defining M.A.D.E. and challenging you to be the YOU God designed.

Ask yourself, “Do you want to get well?” The quick, without thought answer, is “YES, I want to get well!” We will challenge you to take a more thought provoking deep dive into understanding why you are still struggling with some of the same issues from not just last year but years passed. You have read books, the bible, attended bible studies, watched episodes of “Fix My Life”and attended countless women’s conferences but alas that THING is still lurking behind you year after year. Why? Let’s find out together.

M.A.D.E. = Manifest. Activate. Discern. Evolve.

When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” John 5:6 NKJV

MANIFEST.

Last April, me and my daughter were shopping for new cell phones at Sprint. I ended up buying some other things that I had been wanting and needed. I bought a bluetooth speaker and I bought a sports-style wireless bluetooth headset. I emphasize sports-style because of my forever quest to be consistent with exercise and a point that will be made later.

For the next 7 months my sports-style wireless bluetooth headset stayed primarily in my car’s middle console just in case I needed to talk on the phone while SHOPPING. The closest the headset got to the treadmill is when my car was parked in the garage.

This past November during my fasting and prayer season, I began exercising, once again praying for a consistent spirit with working out. I felt good about my commitment. Each morning I brought my phone with me to the treadmill and plugged it into the treadmills’s speaker via USB cable. I was excited! I had started a great routine but as the days progressed I began to notice that the quality of the sound coming from the speakers was distorted. What was I going to do? I had finally established a routine and now the speakers were going out on the treadmill. I was perplexed as to what to do. Buy a new treadmill? Use my bluetooth speaker? I clearly heard the Holy Spirit say, “Use what you have!” Ok God, but what is it? The bluetooth speaker will be too cumbersome to set up in the wee hours of the morning. What God, what do I already have? The sports-style wireless bluetooth headset. So the first thing I thought of to solve my issue was to buy another treadmill but what God clearly showed me was I already had the resources to resolve the problem.

Genesis 1:27 tells us we were made in God’s own image. In order for us to experience our wholeness is to allow who God made us to be to fully developed and MANIFEST those attributes. So with that being said, I am a 47 year old woman who values her healthy living through proper eating habits and exercise.  I accomplish this by consistently eating right and exercising. That’s already who I am. I didn’t have to join a gym or buy another DVD to finally realize that’s who I am. I already had the resources; a treadmill and a sports-style wireless bluetooth headset. What I had to do is get out of my own self’s way and allow who God made me to manifest. Once I did that, God showed me the resources I already had from my many exploits of searching for the right thing or the right gadget to help me accomplish my goal.

So before you go out into 2017 and buy another gadget, buy another DVD, attend another women’s conference, buy another book, watch another self-help show, spend some time evaluating who YOU already are in God; Because God IS, You Are!!!! Women of God, please realize this. Now that is just the first step. The second step is use what you have already gathered to MANIFEST who you already are in God. Go back to the notes from all the sermons and bible studies you have attended. Read the books you already bought from previous women’s conferences.

My prayer is that these two steps will lead you to a healthy and fulfilling manifestation of who you are in God and what you have in God. I pray that my simple analogy will allow you to harness this power much more sooner than I did. I have been struggling with this for years but I have it now. I moved out of my own self’s way. Now I am certainly not advocating for you to never buy another book, DVD, gadget or even attend a women’s conference. I am simply encouraging you to get over that THING you have been dragging from year to year by using what you already have in you and around you. By accomplishing this you will find that you will be attending your next conference not to receive a word but to give a word. Now Shout!!!

Fearfully and Wonderfully MADE,

Carla

  2. LOVE this! Speaks to me clearly and the journey I am on! I have gotten in my own way for years and held myself back but decided in 2015 that I would change that and with God leading the way I did accomplish goals I never thought I could! Now I am following wherever he leads! Love you both!!!
